San Francisco based producers and djs Spinnerty and Bozak went to an experimental tape-music show a few months back - pitch black theatre, 20-channel surround sound, highly edited field recordings. They ended up sitting next to this gentleman named Charles MacDermet. He was an older man that told them stories about growing up in Colorado listening to a French experimental music radio show on his world-band radio that featured experimental electronic music recorded before tape was invented - they recorded sound on metal wire. He was a peculiar fellow who definitely inspired some research and informed the steez of the mixtape.
Meeting Mr. MacDermet mixtape (

They also each created individual tracks on a similar vibe. “Sustain” crafted by Bozak and “Percipice” constructed by Spinnerty round out this exclusive summer project from Record Breakin’ Music.
In an era where many artists get noticed for having the biggest, baddest, bassiest dancefloor slapper of the moment, Spinnerty and Bozak collab here with a more subtle approach. This is pleasant music. With little to no focus on drum tracks hitting you over the head, this is music based on pure emotion and vibe. Creating a moment to zone out, reflect, and take a time out.
