Record Breakin’ Music (RBM) focuses on releasing music crafted by the some of the world’s most forward thinking recording artists. The label reaches beyond genre specific boundaries, just as the artists on our roster vary stylistically. In 2007 tastemaker, dj and radio host (Eavesdrop Radio) DJ Junior launched Record Breakin’ Music, a Philadelphia-based independent record label. We opened our doors with a straightforward approach to releasing quality new music with a soulful foundation.
Over the past 5 years we have continued to present exceptional music to a culture that embraces it. There’s much more to come. Thanks for your continued support and keep listening.
You’re holding a small collection of gems from the Record Breakin’ Music (RBM) label. Over the last 5 years, RBM has always represented a wide range of underground music. Although our releases have all been quite different, the constant theme is a soulful vibe. Music is always a moving target, constantly changing and evolving. We’ve been fortunate enough to work with a wide range of artists, many of whom are supporters of pushing musical boundaries in new directions.
For this 5 Year Anniversary compilation, I hand selected some of my favorite tracks over the years. It was a difficult task. However, I believe these tracks are a great introduction to the label, as well as a strong retrospective of what we’ve worked on. So, enjoy!
Special thanks to all the artists, musicians and friends involved in the making of this album. Much appreciation to all the DJs, venues, music lovers, press, and radio shows that have supported us over the years.
